These Two Cherries chisels are the classic German chisel. My own training is in the English style of woodworking and tool design, but Germany has its own rich tool and cabinetmaking tradition, a tradition that is still maintained by strict licensing requirements about who can and cannot call themselves a master craftsmen. These chisels, which are made the traditional way, are mirror polished all over in a case of attractive overkill. The important points are the steel is great, the backs of the chisel are flat, and these chisels have double hooped hornbeam handles. Hornbeam is one of the best handles woods around, and while very popular in Europe it's not used at all in English or American tools since it's not native to those regions. The double hoop means that you can use a mallet on these tools with abandon and have no fear of cracking a handle. 10 to 14 inches in overall length. Hornbeam handles. Imperial sizes are nominal. Made in Germany.
