  • Waterstones

We stock several types and brands of waterstones. When you select a brand or type of stone consider the entire system, not just the cost of the stone but the size, how many stones are needed in the system, and ease of maintenance. Norton waterstones are our most popular stones and are available in a host of sizes and combination for every situation. They represent a great system with a nice balance of speed, ease of maintenance, versatility with tough alloys, and final edge quality. Another approach are the Pride Abrasives which are harder than the Nortons but stay flatter longer. The only true natural waterstones we stock are our Arkansas stones and stones which are nominally oilstones (and listed under oilstones), but they are not porous, and many of our customers, mostly knife and razor sharpeners, use these stones with water.
