by Carlyle Lynch

In “American Clock Making" published in 1860, Chauncey Jerome wrote “Mr. Eli Terry, in the year 1814, invented a beautiful shelf clock which completely revolutionized the whole business." This particular clock, made by Silas Hoadley in 1816, is of that famous pillar and scroll design. The detailed plans with easy to follow instructions make this an excellent first clock. H.31, W.16 1/2, D.4 5/8.

Each set of Carlyle Lynch measured drawings is accompanied by a detailed parts list with measurements, a list of hardware, and notes detailing any extra information that might be required, such as certain construction details.
