Glovewear Comes to Town

I can't tell you how important good work gloves are to the people working here. Gloves protect our hands from rough timber splinters which lets us do a lot of things safer and faster. Gloves keep our hands from getting truly filthy on the grinders where a mix of steel dust, compound, and grease turns your hands and everything you touch into a disgusting mess. And of course for cycling, driving, and just staying warm good gloves make the outdoor world a lot more tolerable, sometimes even enjoyable.

So we decided to stock the best work gloves we could find on the market which happened to be leather gloves by Geier Glove which are made in the USA in their factory on the west coast.

What struck me about Geier Gloves is how comfortable they are compared to kevlar and other gloves. This allows me to segue into a problem I had last fall when I needed to replace my old winter gloves. What I found is that Geier lined gloves, designed and perfectly made for working outdoors in the winter, are also perfect as just wear around gloves and cost a lot less than what I could find in the local department store. And they look nicer. I don't like wearing dress gloves, too formal - and I destroy them very quickly. I want gloves to keep my hands warm. So now I am happy.

We stock lined and unlined in a variety of leathers. Goatskin is the toughest, deerskin is the most supple. We have deerskin gloved lined with Merino wool - which is really nice.

N.B. You will probably want a pretty snug fit for your work gloves. We give have a tab on each glove product description with instructions on sizing. For lined gloves get one size larger than the unlined for a snug fit. If you like a fairly loose fit go up another half size.
