Working Towards the Clamp-down 3Depending on how you look at it 96.7 percent of all woodworking projects end with a glue-up or a clamp-down. For years we have had a comprehensive array of hand (and power) tools for sale but we never offered clamps. The reason was simple - There's lots of competition out there and clamps are heavy to ship. As a tiny company we can't get the deals big resellers can get on commodity items like (mostly imported) clamps. So there it stood for awhile.

However last year I thought that enough is enough and this year I did something about it. We are now stocking the complete line of the Universal Clamp. These are Made in USA bar clamps with a lightweight aluminum bar. They are great because it's easy for one person to do a glue up and not drop a clamp on the work. I have been using them for 25 years, they have gotten better (the nut has been strengthened), they will last a lifetime, and a few years ago FWW gave them a top rating.

Working Towards the Clamp-down 4We also stock wooden cam clamps now which are just great for lighter, smaller jobs.

And of course you would use Hide Glue.

Of Course!!!! (actually once I found out that hide glue is mostly transparent to finishes it was a no-brainer - saves oodles of time on cleanup)
