All Rounder by Ashley Iles - 3/8

This popular tool designed by Martin Pidgen is for occasional turners. The all rounder is a deeper gouge with a more defined ‘U’ shape than a spindle gouge. It'll do a pretty good job of roughing out, but it has a fingernail grind and it’s narrow enough (3/8") for most regular turning. If you already have a light duty turning set and you want a heavy, general-purpose tool that you can rely on, this all rounder is a good choice. It is recommended for use only on smaller pieces.

Except where noted all tools are made of high speed steel (HSS) and are sold handled. Tony Iles hand finishes each and every turning tool himself and is proud that every tool is shipped with its surfaces ground and edges broken. These are tools that will feel wonderful in the hand, with a heft makes them feel very solid - a real aid in turning. All the tools are shipped sharp and ready to use, although we fully expect many of you to customize the grinds to your particular working methods.
