Hurricane Sandy Blows 4I'm writing this late Wednesday from a friend's house on the upper west side. Downtown, where I live we have no power and no water. I live on the sixteenth floor of a building and if you want anything you have to walk down and up sixteen flights in darkness. Fortunately we have flashlights.
At the office we have been very lucky. No power until maybe Thursday but the subway system isn't working yet either.Otherwise no water damage. So in theory, if UPS starts picking up again, and if we have power we should be back in business any day. I won't be back in the office until Monday I think. Who knows. I consider ourselves pretty lucky, there are lots of poeple who lost houses and lives, we have been merely inconvinienced.

I'm glad you're doing as well as you are. I had tickets to WWIA in Covington for this weekend, but with the storm, I had to cancel. I'll be spending the money I had planned to spend at the marketplace here instead.

Also, I've been thinking about what the woodworking community can do with all these downed trees. Making furniture for people who lost everything? Know of any organizations already thinking along those lines?
