Our treadle lathe comes complete with a live cup center. For smaller work, some people prefer a more common live center. This live center is designed for supporting work between centers on wood lathes equipped with an MT2 tailstock. It provides smooth, low-friction support for spindle turning, reducing heat buildup and allowing the workpiece to turn freely and accurately.
The hardened steel point is precisely ground to ensure reliable registration, while the internal bearing assembly allows the center to rotate smoothly under load. This makes it well suited for long spindles, tool handles, chair parts, and other work where consistent support is essential.
The Morse taper shank is accurately machined for a secure, self-holding fit in the tailstock quill, seating firmly without play. The compact body keeps the working length short, improving rigidity and minimizing deflection during turning.
This is a simple, durable live center meant for everyday shop use—well made, accurate, and dependable.
