There is a special thrill in discovering or rediscovering an unsung, humble or neglected tool. We’ve seen the happiness many customers have found when they’ve purchased or been given the humble card scraper. It’s a very basic tool that nevertheless can bring a piece of wood to a very agreeable smoothness.

Not content to just sharpen scrapers with the Accu-Burr carbide burnisher, Isaac Smith and Union Mfg have turned their attention to the scraper itself. The Accu-Burr scrapers are cut from blue-tempered 1095 spring steel and have an RC hardness of 48-51. The card scraper is 0.025" thick, 2 1/2" tall, and 6" long, a good size and thickness for general purpose scraping and it flexes easily with good control. Use them for removing planer marks to taming wild grain and leveling finishes - you’ll find a use at many stages of a project. There is a surprising elegance and even glamour to the AccuBurr version of this hardworking and modest tool.

To protect your thumbs, each card scraper comes with a thick Flux-Cool card scraper magnet that helps draw out and dissipate the heat generated by vigorous scraping. Keep your fingers cool and keep on scraping!

Made in the USA.
Customer Reviews:
Great card scrapers
By: Bryan (Oct, 2024)
I didn't realize how bad my other card scrapers were until I bought one of these. I don't know if it's the type of steel or what, but I can get way better shavings with these than with the cheap ones I bought a few years ago (which seem fine, but just don't get as sharp, I guess).
I own this product.
