Polyx-Oil Satin 3054 is our most popular Osmo product. It's great for finishing furniture, cabinetry, floors, artwork, etc. Polyx-Oils are made of natural oils (sunflower, soybean and thistle) and waxes (carnauba and candelilla) plus a bit of low-odor, benzene-free solvent. Once dry, Polyx Oils are certified food contact safe under Regulation (EC) No. 1935/2004 of the European Parliament, making 3054 a great choice for children’s toys, cutting boards, spoons and counters and butcher block.
These environmentally friendly characteristics of Polyx-Oils stem from an approach that also focuses on the finish enhancing wood’s natural beauty, strengthening the wood grain rather than coating it with a plasticky-cover. Polyx-OilS leave the wood micro-porous and breathing, which enables the finish to perform well even in conditions of high humidity. Polyx-Oil 3054 offers very robust resistance to water and dirt and whatever liquids you can throw at its surface - coffee, red wine, tea, soda, grape juice, milk, etc.
Polyx-Oil Satin 3054 is an extremely durable choice especially if you want to preserve the look and feel of natural wood. Apply the first coat to clean, sanded wood. Let it dry for 8 - 10 hours and then apply the second coat. For interior use only. Made in Germany.
Use the interactive Coverage Calculator below to figure out how much Polyx Oil you are likely to need for your project. (Input the square footage of your project and the number of desired coats, typically 2.) The number of liters of Osmo needed for your project is an estimate - the actual amount of product needed will vary based upon the condition of the wood, species, surface preparation, etc.)
