Osmo Oil Stain is a pigmented oil designed to alter the color of wood flooring, wood furniture and joinery, cabinetry, strip parquet, cork, terracotta and other non-glazed natural ceramic tile. Oil Stain needs to be topped off with Polyx-Oil or Top Oil to get the standard Osmo protection.
One coat gives you a transparent finish to highlight the wood’s natural beauty; a second coat will result in a more intensive opaque color finish.
Osmo Oil Stain can also be used as a tinting agent for Polyx (up to a maximum of 10% of the Polyx volume if you want to keep the Polyx protection) - just mix it in.
Note: The Neutral (aka Natural) shade contains minute amounts of white pigment and is designed to offset the amberizing effect of penetrating oils on light-colored wood over time.
Osmo Oil Stains are based on natural plant oils (sunflower oil, soya oil and thistle oil) with pigments, drying agents and benzene-free dearomatized white spirit. When dry, Osmo Oil Stain is suitable for children’s toys and safe for humans, animals and plants when dry.
1 Liter container covers approx. 258-516 sq ft with one coat. Use the Coverage Calculator below to figure out how much Oil Stain you are likely to need for your project. (Estimated need only - the actual amount of product needed will vary based upon the condition of the wood, species, surface preparation, etc.)
