Live Cup Center For Wood MT2

The Gramercy Tools Treadle lathe comes with a 1/2” live cup center, which spins freely (thereby earning its name). In the old days, the right side of your work would be supported by a pointy center that needed greasing while you worked to reduce friction. Live centers spin effortlessly without the need for grease or worry.

The cup center has a concentric steel ring that digs into the end of the work and keeps it very steady. The cup ring distributes the clamping force of the load over a wide diameter so that the ring does not need to embed very deeply in the wood. This means little cleanup is left.

Comes with a standard MT 2 arbor (Morse Taper 2) to fit most wood lathe headstocks.
