by Carlyle Lynch

To ever sit in a Corner Chair is to want one. They are comfortable and different from other chairs. Especially appropriate if you are wearing a sword, or sitting where you need often to turn, as from a desk to a drawer of the desk. This one of walnut, about 1760, is attributed to Thomas White of Hertford, North Carolina who received his training in Newport, Rhode Island. H.30 1/4, W.25, Seat Rail 16 5/8. This piece is part of the collection at the Museum of Early Decorative Arts (MESDA) in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Each set of Carlyle Lynch measured drawings is accompanied by a detailed parts list with measurements, a list of hardware, and notes detailing any extra information that might be required, such as certain construction details.
