Cellaret

Almost unknown in other parts of the Country, cellarets were popular in the Old South for holding a small variety of wines and liqueurs in a living area rather than the cellar. A bold display of liquor in one’s house was not considered genteel; thus the cellaret was born. This cellaret holds 12 bottles. C.1790. H.37, W.21, D.16.
