Miniature Roughing Out Gouge by Ashley Iles - 3/8

There really is no difference in roughing out a small piece versus roughing out a big piece. It's just a question of scale. So you want the same characteristics in the tools, except their size. Ashley Iles miniature roughing gouges have the same deep gouge profile as their full-sized cousins, and they'll work better for quickly reducing square stock to approximate profile than a regular gouge.

Except where noted all tools are made of high speed steel (HSS) and are sold handled. Tony Iles hand finishes each and every turning tool himself and is proud that every tool is shipped with its surfaces ground and edges broken. These are tools that will feel wonderful in the hand, with a heft makes them feel very solid - a real aid in turning.
