The OF 1400 router is an extremely versatile and smooth-running router that doesn't compromise power. And as a very popular member of the Festool family, it offers outstanding precision, reliability and dust extraction.
The router has an a ratcheting collet so you can change bits without removing the wrench from the shaft, and a tool-less copy ring changing system that is quick and easy (just one click to release the ring, and once you drop another one in its place, the new ring automatically centers itself with no adjustments necessary). The OF 1400 takes 1/2", 3/8", 1/4" or 8 mm bits - which should just about cover you for any project - and like all of Festool routers, the OF 1400 is compatible with the Festool guide rail system (with an optional guide stop). You'll get greater routing depth and easier operation than you thought possible. The router has a chip catcher and a dust extraction hood that keeps your piece and the air clean and dust-free. And the great dust collection means faster and smoother cutting because the chips aren't clogging up the cutting surface.
In summer 2026 the router will incorporate a light module as part of the tool design. This light module can also be retrofitted onto previous versions of the OF 1400.
For drilling for shelf pins and other regular holes, Festool has a range of pre-drilled rails and a guide plate for using the hole drilling. Stops, shelf bits, and hinge drilling bits are available also. For routing panels the optional MFS 700 multi-routing templates are 4 aluminum rails that bolt together in any size and add tremendous versatility to the setups you can do.
