Cutters and Packages of Dominos for the Domino 500

Festool’s Domino joiner uses pre-made precision floating tenons, often confusingly called “Dominoes.” The standard ones are made from beech, with a weather-resistant and rot-resistant Sipo Mahogany available variant for exterior projects.

The tenons are ribbed so that glue does not get caught and will flow evenly in the joint. The tenons come in five thicknesses; 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, and 10mm thick in a variety of lengths. The 4mm Domino is fairly short and recommended for 1/2" plywood only. Festool also offers Domino stock in 750 mm lengths for you to cut to your own specified lengths.

All of the Dominos cutters listed here for the Domino DF 500 only; they will not work with the larger Domino 700 XL joiner. The largest Domino tenons for the DF 500 - 8 and 10 Domino tenons - can also be used with the Domino 700 XL joiner, but the XL uses different 8mm and 10mm cutters. (Festool does not offer cutters or adapters that allow the use of the XL joiner with the smaller 4, 5, and 6 mm dominoes.)
