 Kataba Saw - 240mm ($39.99) In Stock

Kataba saws are single-bladed saws like the more famous dozukis, but they have stiffer, thicker blades and much shorter metal spines. We’ve offered a folding kataba that we have had trouble keeping in stock, so we are also offering this non-folding kataba.

It’s a general carpentry saw with super-sharp teeth that make fast, efficient and deep cuts. We recommend use for stock 2” and under in thickness. It's great for jobs like sawing plywood panels, where the stronger blade, aggressive crosscut teeth and the absence of the long spine lets you cut into a panel without interference.

The saw cuts a little slower than a thinner saw but that's the only tradeoff. You’ll also be delighted by the smooth finish left despite the aggressive teeth.

Impulse hardened teeth. Blade length: 240 mm (9.4"). Overall length: 20”. Teeth per inch (TPI): 16. Thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) handle.

Made in Japan.
