FESTOOL LS 130 EQ Linear Sander - Very limited supply

A few years ago Festool discontinued the LS 130 sander. We don’t know why Festool discontinues certain tools that our customers love (we actually actually wrote about it in “The Explainer” section above) like the LS 130, but in general Festool seems to have abandoned the linear sander market. Bad news if you have to sand spindles, rabbets, banisters, molding, rounded frames or any number of curved surfaces for which the LS 130 worked like a dream.

Some good news: we have just obtained a very small supply of brand new LS 130 sanders from another dealer that didn’t know what to do with them. The LS130’s “do-it-yourself” sanding pad kit was also discontinued, but a variety of flat, concave, convex and long sanding pads are still available, as are the spongy Interface Pad and the 80x133 Granat, Rubin and Granat Net sandpaper ranges that the LS 130 uses. (This is also the size used for the RTS rectangular detail sander and some of the hand sanders.)

Essentially the LS 130 is a sander that replaces tedious hand sanding - and does so without sanding or swirl marks if you follow the grain. The sander comes with two sanding pads, one flat and the other 90 degree. You can find replacement pads for these profiles and several convex and concave pads under the code FS-LS130. These pads are easily swapped out to tackle different profiles and do not require a tool for pad changes.
