There are a lot of planing tasks that you might want to do at a jobsite - quickly shave down doors that stick, fixing not quite smooth built-in cabinets, leveling uneven framing lumber, jointing edges, etc. - and a cordless planer gives you the freedom to accomplish these planing tasks in tight spaces without being tied down to a cord.

The cordless HLC 82 Planer is designed with a single-knife helical cutter head that cuts at an angle rather than straight across, which means dramatically less chatter, beautifully smooth surfaces and less cleanup work afterward. With the included depth stop, you can cut rebates up to 29/32" (23mm) deep; if you remove the depth stop, you can reach 1" (25mm). The built-in V-grooves in the sole make it easy to plane a consistent chamfer without any additional setup, (and a chamfer guide base is available separately for more precise work). And the EC-TEC motor keeps cutting speed consistent from the first pass to the last.

Other appealing design features include the quick-acting brake that stops the cutterhead in under two seconds to reduce the risk of damage to the workpiece, and the dual extraction channels support either dust control or heavy chip removal and connect on either side of the tool. The HLC 82 planer is comfortable in the hand and lightweight enough - under 6 lbs with the battery - for sustained one-handed use. Planing depth 0 - 3/32" (0 - 3mm). Max rebate depth 29/32" with stop, 1" without. Dust extraction port: 36mm.

The HLC 82 planer comes with the parallel side fence, hex key and short extraction channel, packed in a Systainer SYS3 M 237. Batteries and charger are sold separately.

Note: the HLC 82 blade and accessories do not fit the corded HL850, and the HL850's accessories do not fit the HLC 82 planer.
