Spoon Carving: The Scandinavian Tradition with Erik Buchakian 1
Learn about the materials, tools, and techniques used in traditional Scandinavian spoon carving. We’ll look at spoons made by master carvers as well as cover special issues for urban carvers. Attendees are encouraged to bring their questions as well as their work, work-in-process, or tools, for feedback, tips, and troubleshooting.

Erik Buchakian has studied and practiced Scandinavian traditional woodworking and studied with master craftsman Wille Sundqvist and his son Jogge Sundqvist, author of Slojd in Wood. Erik was a Director of Country Workshops (Marshall, North Carolina) for more than 10 years and currently lives in Sullivan County, New York.

Location: Tools for Working Wood showroom, 112 26th Street, Brooklyn. R train to 25th Street. Street parking available.
Time: 12 - 2 pm
