FESTOOL Vacuum Hoses

Festool hoses come in a range of lengths and diameters. All hoses include a rotating connector (the part that connects to the vac) and a reducing sleeve (that connects to the tool end). Once upon a time Festool offered both antistatic and non-antistatic (gray) options, but now the hoses are all antistatic, which is great for preventing dust buildup on the hose exterior, which keeps your work and workplace cleaner, and also prevents clogging and errant shocks.

The 27 mm hoses include the standard 11.5” hose that comes with CT/CTC Midii, CT 26, CT 36 and CT48 vacs; a 16.5” version of this hose; and hoses for the CT/CTC Sys and CT Midi and CT Mini vacs that were manufactured before 2019.

The AutoClean (AC) vacs come with a different antistatic hose that is not as smooth as the standard fabric encased hose. The CT15 or CT25 come with a junior version of this black hose; the CT 15/25 hose is not sold as a separate part in the US.

Although all hoses will work with the 36AC, Festool has devised a specific CT36AC hose that locks into the Planex drywall sander; no other hose does so, nor is there a piece available to retrofit other hoses. (So you can use the Planex with a CT48 AC, but you will not get this locking mechanism.)

Tapered hoses are smaller at the tool end and bigger at the vacuum end to maximize airflow while allowing use with smaller hand tools. You can also buy replacement or additional connectors, for the extractor end of the hoses and reducing sleeves for the tool end of the hoses.

If you are doing fairly heavy-duty work, a larger 36 mm or even 50 mm hose will clear debris faster and better. This is especially true for the Kapex and the big OF 2200 router. In addition the larger hoses work better for cleaning when you are using the hose as a general shop vacuum.

Note: Many of the vacuum accessory kits also include a larger diameter hose so if you are planning to get a kit you may not need to order the larger hose by itself.

Festool also makes tapered 5m and 10 m Sleeved Anti-Static hoses that integrate the plug-it cord. The design allows the hose to freely move over edges and protects the work surfaces being machined.
